One of my first book programs was The Launch at the Roswell Public Library, where I live and where incoming Roswell Mayor Laurie Henry introduced me. Unbeknownst to me, Laurie had read the book within the first two weeks it was published. When I met her at a Meet-and-Greet a week before the book came out, she recognized my name, asked if I was the author of Chancer, and we had a terrific talk. Then, it occurred to me that our new mayor knew way more about me than I knew about her. But this was one of the first of many experiences where I felt a little more self-conscious about my personal exposure! But I wouldn't take it back for a second.
